Acupuncture For Ajax Ontario

One of the most well-known health care profession is the ancient Chinese art of Acupuncture. This treatment provides treatment for a wide variety of ailments that may plague patients. Here at Somerset Family Chiropractic we offer this service to our patients so that they may find treatment.

How Acupuncture Works:

One of the beliefs of ancient Chinese medicine is the concept of yin and yang. When the two forces are in harmony, the body is in good states and promotes positivity. It is when the two forces are out of harmony that ailments and pain affect patients. The acupuncturists use fine needles to stimulate various chi points on a patient’s body to promote the two forces to flow in harmony once again. Once returned to harmony, the ailments that affect the patient should being to dissipate.

What Happens During an Acupuncture Session?

During an acupuncture session, the patient lies down in a variety of positions. Once they are comfortable, the acupuncturist begins to insert the needles into the key chi points. While there may be mild discomfort, most patients report not feeling anything at all while the needles are being inserted. Once the needles are inserted they are left in for five to thirty minutes depending on the treatment the patient requires. Most patients report feeling calm and relaxed during and after the acupuncture session.
